Tetramorium immigrans ||Live Queen|| [Common Pavement Ant]
Tetramorium immigrans, arguably the best beginner species there is out there! As long as they have the basic needs available (water, food, and nesting space) they will thrive. These ants are so incredibly hardy and will not disappoint you. They love to swarm their food and create a really neat trail of ants. Tetramorium immigrans is also one of the faster growing ants with egg to worker time being just around 3 weeks.
Care Guide:
Despite their extremely hardy nature, it is still important to provide proper care for an optimal growing season.
Food
Tetramorium immigrans will eat anything they get their hands on. From insects (beetle larvae, fruit flies, or roaches) to meat (ham, turkey bacon, or chicken) and carbohydrates like Honey, sugar water, or nectar.
Temperature and Humidity:
The temperature should be kept from 16-28C and room humidity is perfect for these ants, though these ants aren’t picky.
Ant nest
Tetramorium immigrans will do great in any of our Esthetic Ant setups. When choosing the size of the nest, the colony should take up at least 40%+ of the nest capacity to insure the colony doesn't feel vulnerable and stressed.
